The last one!
We attended Laura's pre-school graduation last night. It was the last pre-school graduation we'll ever see (sniff). It was a predictable mix of organization and complete chaos. How do you get 60 or so 3-5 year olds to sit still and sing 6 songs in front of an audience? And keep their gowns and caps on straight? And not lift up their dresses (and play with their underwear for all to see - fortunately that wasn't my kid) or pick their noses? It was certainly a test of endurance for all involved. And now it's over. And we'll never have to - sorry - get to do that again. There's only one more half-day of school for Sarah and then we're done for the summer.
I am having some trouble coming up with a birthday party plan that will satisfy Sarah. She wants an outdoor swimming party, but it seems that water usage is banned in Calgary right now. We're supposed to avoid having showers, doing laundry, running dishwashers, watering lawns and gardens and certainly no kiddie pools! WTF! I can understand some of that, but showers? Laundry? Give me a f--king break! I refuse to be dirty and wear dirty clothes. Someone told me if we don't cut it out the mayor is going to turn off all of Calgary's water. I'd like to see him try to get away with that.
Anyway. It's nice and sunny and hot outside. Perfect weather in my opinion.

The river is so dirty from the runoff they can't keep up with the water treatment...go figure
